Would you like to visit the home of St. Nicholas and see the sunken city? If so, we would be happy to invite you to a trip to Demre. The modern city of Demre - old Myra - gives us an unusually touching monument in terms of history and architecture - the Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Nicholas, who came from Patara, became Bishop of Myra, where he preached until his death - until 343. He was buried in this church of Byzantine origin. Soon after the death of Nicholas the Pleasant, several miraculous healings were noted among the believers who came to worship his ashes, and Mira became a place of pilgrimage and sacred faith.
After visiting the church, take a boat trip on a yacht to Kekova, where you can see the sunken city of the Lycian era, an ancient fortress on the Simena peninsula. The long and narrow island of Kekova, together with the surrounding archaeological zone, forms a typical image of the southern part of the Turkish coast. A few years ago, after his visit here, the famous Captain Cousteau was amazed at the purity of the local waters and the beauty of the underwater world, which was reflected in his famous Odyssey.
