Ayran History and Types, a type of drink made by adding water to yogurt- Natural, fatty sheep yoghurt is preferred for making ayran. A maximum of one and a half parts of water is mixed in one part yogurt. Milk can be added instead of water to make it more palatable. A little salt can also be added. Ayran, which is the traditional drink of the Turks, is also drunk in Balkan and Asian countries.
Its history
It was coincidentally found by the Ayran Göktürkler, during a campaign, when water was added to sour yoghurt to alleviate its sourness.
Types
Although the buttermilk preparation does not show regional differences, it differs in terms of its types. Susurluk (Balikesir, Turkey) in the region of a small electric motor buttermilk from the boiler to pull through a narrow tube regained quickly poured into the top. During this recirculation process, buttermilk oil creates foam on the buttermilk. They also call it churn buttermilk. Ayran is also very rich in protein.
