Azerbaijan Baku, Maiden's Tower. The 27-meter-high Maiden's Tower, considered an old Zoroastrian temple, was built in the 12th century. The tower, which tells many stories about its history, was used as a lighthouse in the 18th and 19th centuries. The 8-storey building in the southeastern part of Inner City hosts souvenir stalls and exhibitions today. You can also climb to the top of the tower and take photos of the harbor, most of the coast and the historical buildings of the Old Town.
