From the year 2000, digitization has gained in importance in many areas. Activities in digitization are also continuously carried out in tourism, since the tourism industry is an industry that provides services on behalf of people one-to-one, in which all industries are involved. At the same time, research has shown that the greatest expectation of customers served by the agencies in the tourism sector is digital activities. In addition, it is known that in tourism activities, as in every industry, digitization will lead to a significant increase in the return on products and services after the presentation of products and services.
 
It is obvious that the provision of oriented customer satisfaction services instead of cost or profit-oriented studies for the correct control of digitization and process will lead to higher accelerations in the area of ​​profitability in the future.
 

What are the steps of the digital transformation in tourism?

 
As in any industry, digitization and technological developments in the tourism sector are exposed in order to achieve certain goals. According to experts, certain steps should be followed to increase the impact of digitization in tourism. Let's briefly explain these steps.
 
  1. Personalized Service: While monotonous tourism activities have been a common service since ancient times, customers today want unique experiences. As a result of the observations made in recent years, customers find the processes specially designed for them to be more satisfactory and the rate of rework with the providers has reached a very high point.
     
  2. Personal satisfaction and clarity: In particular, people who go on vacation under the influence of social media are strongly influenced by many factors such as comments and likes. These are possible with mobile devices and the Internet. These uses, which increased sharply in the 2000s, also give us indications of the importance of digitization.
     
  3. Simple and quick solutions: With end-to-end services, individuals want to be able to request a service with technological solutions around the clock. In the tourism industry in particular, where service is offered hourly and to the minute, services such as online shopping, online reservations and one-click ticket purchases are preferred by tourist customers.
 
In summary, Industry 4.0 and tourism are among the strategies that will shape the future. People who receive services in tourism activities place great value on personal satisfaction and do not want to spend time and energy on anything other than their own satisfaction. Accordingly, it will be the job of the agencies to minimize communication and contact between customers and companies.
