Izmir, The Historical Elevator - Nesim Levi built this elevator to ease the road between Mithatpaşa and Halil Rifat Paşa district in Izmir city.
Before the elevator was built, one had to climb the 155-step staircase to reach the Halil Rifat Paşa area.
Under the elevators in the two towers, the steam bath on the left and the one on the right are electric, were renovated in 1985 and have been operated electrically since then.
You can get to Konak's Konak Pier by taking the ferry to the historic elevator, which is a short walk from Karşıyaki to Konak. After a short walk you will reach the location of the elevator.
If you prefer the metro, you have to leave Üçyol and walk for about 15 minutes. Plus, every bus that goes to Konak will take you to the historic elevator.
