Who is Sister Nimet?
Sister Nimet, whose real name is Melek Nimet Özden, was born in Istanbul in 1899. She took her first step on behalf of the National Lottery by selling lotteries which were issued by the Turkish Teyyare Society by his husband Ismail in 1928.
Sister Nimet, who, after the news was published, hung the big rewards from tickets sold at her place of work, showed her greatest happiness as rich people. Sister Nimet, who has always been known for her faith, went to the Hajj at the age of 36 and had a mosque built in her name in Esentepe.
On July 28, 1978, Sister Nimet died, who at the end of her life always had to struggle with illnesses and paralysis. Sister Nimet, who was an absolute Ataturk fan, had Mevlits read for Ataturk every year and said: "We are living these days thanks to him".
Where is the Nimet Abla lottery?
After her husband İsmail had a difficult time in his business life, Sister Nimet began to work by meeting the late Fikret and entering into the company's number one dealer deal. It was moved to its current location in 1938 after the then governor and mayor Lütfü Kırdan worked on the design of Eminönü Square.
