1. Brunch

Is a long and rich meal that is eaten around noon and consists of components from breakfast and lunch. The suitcase word brunch comes from English and is made up of breakfast and lunch.

2. Check out

Check-out time: The procedure for checking out of the hotel on departure.

3. Deluxe

Luxury hotel (private bathroom, all-inclusive service).

4. Inclusive terms

Accommodation price with three meals per day.

5. Junior Suite

Is an upscale room type in the hotel business. Compared to the single and double rooms, the junior suite offers much more space and amenities.

6. Luggage Pass

A card that gives the tourist the right to collect luggage from the hotel.

7. Master Key

A floor key for all room doors on this floor.

8. Party ticket

We are referred to as a group ticket.

9. Room service

A hotel service that offers guests food and drinks in their rooms.

10. Safe-Deposit Boxes

Individual area for storing valuables and cash.

11. Service Charge

"Service Price": To reward the work of the service department, 10 to 20% of the bill is usually added.

12. Tourist Class

Economy class of the hotel. The lowest class of accommodation for passengers.

13. Twin

Double room with two separate beds.

14. Flight

The cost of transporting a passenger by air a certain distance. There are group, individual, regular and special fares.

15. English breakfast

Full breakfast with fruit juice, scrambled eggs and ham, toast, butter, jam, tea or coffee.

16. Cancellation

Cancellation of a tourist trip.

17. Flats / apartments

A special type of hotel room whose design comes as close as possible to modern apartments (usually the cost of food is not included in the room rate).

18. Apart-hotel

A hotel whose rooms consist of apartments.

19. Baggage control

An official document that the airline prepares when checking in the baggage and issues it to the passenger to confirm that it assumes responsibility for the transport of this baggage and its release to the passenger at the end of the journey.

20. Bellboy

A hotel employee who takes over the reception of the guests from the hotel porter, carries suitcases, offers floor service, takes on customer service tasks, does front office jobs.

21. Duty Free Import

Passport for the transport of goods without import duties across the customs border. A reasonable number of personal items are usually allowed duty free.

22. Business trip

A type of trip for business people who need adequate service (e.g. meeting rooms, secretarial services, etc.).

23. Block charter

If several tour operators split the seat capacity of a flight machine among themselves, one speaks of part charter (also called split charter or block charter).

24. Reservation

Preliminary allocation of a place in a hotel or vehicle to a specific tourist (passenger) as well as tickets for cultural events on a specific date.

25. Bungalow

A special type of accommodation for tourists: in tropical and southern countries - a separate building which is usually a one-story house. Summer house, holiday home, weekend house - these are all terms that are often used synonymously for bungalow.

26. Voucher

A document issued by a travel or transport company confirming that the tourist has paid for certain types of services: hotel accommodation, excursion services, meals, trips, etc. The voucher is the basis for receiving this service.

27. Visa

Special approval from the competent authorities of a foreign government in the form of an official identification in the passport (stamp of the consulate, etc.), which grants the right to enter, leave, inhabit or travel through the territory of this state.

28. Travel guide

Professional guide who shows tourists the sights of a city or area.

29. Hotel chain

One of the franchise or other hotel systems whose members enjoy privileges (especially in the national booking system).

30. Customs declaration

Document issued by the customs service to be filled in when crossing the border: contains information about luggage and the availability of the currency at the tourist.

31. Franchise Agreement

A document on the transfer of privileges and rights from the manufacturer of tourism services to their implementation (marketing). Offers the use of the franchisor's brand as a guarantee of the quality of the services.

32. Group travel documents

Transport papers issued for a group of tourists confirming the right to travel with one or the other transport (tickets, tour packages with tear-off coupons, etc.).

33. Means of payment traveler's check

It can be exchanged for cash in the currency in which it is issued or for an equivalent amount in foreign currency at the current exchange rate. Banks that issue travelers checks guarantee a full refund for lost checks due to theft, destruction, etc.

34. Duty Free Shopping

Duty-free trading system at airports, on board planes, ferries and other vehicles.

35. Rail cruise

A multi-day tourist trip along a circular route where the train is not only a means of transport but also a special type of accommodation for tourists, with stops for excursions.

36. Individual tour

A tour ordered by a client (or a group of clients) at their own discretion, including accommodation, meals, transfers, excursion program, etc.

37. Arrival card

A special form that a tourist must fill out when arriving in another country by plane or boat. Must be presented at the border control point.

38. Camping

Camping is a form of tourism. In this case, vacationers spend the night in tents, hammocks, caravans or mobile homes, in roof tents or converted vans. If you camp in tents, one also speaks of tents.
