Japan, one of the East Asian countries, is known as the "Land of the Rising Sun" and has one of the longest coastlines in the world. Those who wish to travel to Japan, a country that receives a great deal of attention in East Asia, are curious about the final steps regarding visas.

Does Japan Require a Visa?

As a result of the decision taken by the Japanese Consulate General on September 26, 2022, the visa requirement for trips to Japan has been lifted for stays of less than 90 days. Holders of Ordinary (Maroon), Service (Gray), Special (Green), and Diplomatic (Black) passports will be exempt from this visa for a period of 90 days. Additionally, the requirement to participate in package tours for those traveling to Japan for tourist purposes has also been lifted.
